Description
Golden / Yellow Oyster (Pleurotus citrinopileatus) Liquid Culture Syringe – 10ml / 10cc
Grow a Vibrant Gourmet Mushroom with Striking Golden Color
Cultivate Golden Oyster mushrooms with our premium Grospore 10ml (10cc) liquid culture syringe. Known for their brilliant yellow-to-golden caps, delicate texture, and mild nutty flavor, Golden Oyster mushrooms are one of the most visually distinctive gourmet mushroom varieties available.
The species is Pleurotus citrinopileatus, and different sellers list it as Golden Oyster, Yellow Oyster, Gold Oyster or Yellow Golden Oyster — all the same mushroom. In Japan it is known as tamogitake or koganeshimeji. Its bright clustered growth and excellent culinary versatility make it a popular choice for home growers, chefs, and mushroom enthusiasts.
Why Choose Golden / Yellow Oyster Mushrooms?
- Brilliant Golden Color – Produces eye-catching clusters with vivid yellow-to-gold caps.

- Excellent Culinary Versatility – Ideal for sautéing, stir-fries, soups, pasta, rice dishes, and gourmet recipes.

Lab-Tested Liquid Culture for Reliable Growth
Our Grospore Golden / Yellow Oyster Liquid Culture Syringe contains vigorous living mycelium, lab-tested and prepared in our ISO-certified cleanroom to support healthy colonization and dependable cultivation performance.
Each 10ml (10cc) syringe offers:
- Live Mycelium, Not Spores – This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe, not a spore syringe. There is no germination step, so colonization begins as soon as you inoculate.
- Lab-Tested & ISO Cleanroom Prepared – Every batch is lab-tested for purity and prepared in an ISO-certified cleanroom, so what reaches you is clean, contaminant-free and viable.
- Faster Colonization – Active mycelium helps promote efficient colonization compared with starting from spores.
- Convenient 10ml (10cc) Syringe – 10cc and 10ml are the same volume. Easy to use with appropriately prepared sterile growing media, grain spawn or agar.
- Vigorous Genetics – Cloned, isolated Pleurotus citrinopileatus mycelium known for fast-growing characteristics and productive fruiting potential.
How to Grow Golden / Yellow Oyster Mushrooms
- Prepare the Substrate – Straw, hardwood sawdust, and other appropriately prepared lignocellulosic materials are commonly used for Golden Oyster cultivation. The same syringe can also be used to inoculate sterilized grain spawn, grain jars or bags, or an agar plate.
- Inoculate – Inject 2–3cc (2–3ml) per grain jar or bag through a self-healing injection port, using sterile technique in a still air box or in front of a laminar flow hood. Substrate may be sterilized or pasteurized.
- Colonize – Allow the mycelium to fully colonize the substrate under suitable incubation conditions.
- Initiate Fruiting – Once fully colonized, provide high humidity, indirect light, fresh-air exchange, and appropriate fruiting temperatures.
- Harvest & Enjoy – Harvest clusters while the caps remain firm and vibrant for the best texture, appearance, and culinary quality.
Storage, Shelf Life & Shipping
Refrigerate your liquid culture syringe on arrival. Stored at 35–45°F (2–7°C), upright and out of direct light, it stays viable for 4–6 months. Orders ship fast from Oregon in discreet packaging, with tracking on every order and a 30-day return policy on unused items.

It colonized fast, stayed clean, and fruited. That’s it.

Being completely new to liquid culture, I was worried I would mess up something basic. The instructions actually helped a lot because they explained storage, how much to inject, and the need for sterile technique in plain language. I still moved slowly and double checked everything, but I never felt lost. For a first attempt, that made a big difference and gave me enough confidence to go ahead.

Shipping was absurdly fast. I had less time to procrastinate than usual.

I assumed this would lose steam after a month in the fridge, so I waited longer than usual. Pleasant surprise: it still looked clean and active when I finally used it. No issues from storage.

After ordering liquid cultures here for a few years, customer service is a big reason I keep coming back. With this golden oyster syringe, I wrote in first to ask about best use after refrigerated storage and whether 2 to 3cc was still the right amount for grain jars if I was doing a smaller run. I got a clear reply that actually sounded like it came from someone who grows, not somebody pasting canned text. They answered my questions directly, mentioned storage position, and explained the inoculation amount without overcomplicating it. That kind of consistency matters when you order regularly. The syringe itself looked healthy and performed the way I expected, but the support side is what keeps earning my repeat business. Reliable help, quick response, no nonsense.

What sold me here was how straightforward the process felt. The culture looked healthy, the syringe markings were easy to read, and I liked having enough volume to do several test jars without guessing. I split it between agar and two grain bags, and both showed clean growth. The included handling guidance was simple enough that I did not have to go hunting through forums first. Solid purchase for someone who likes a more organized workflow.

Thought fridge storage would weaken it, but six weeks later it still looked lively.

Right away, I appreciated how clearly the instructions laid everything out. They explained storage, how much to use per jar, and the basic sterile setup without making it feel complicated. That made the whole process a lot more approachable. I still double-checked my technique, but I never felt lost. For anyone growing golden oysters at home, the guidance here is genuinely helpful and easy to follow.

From a value standpoint, I look at three things with liquid culture: usable volume, visible density, and how far one syringe actually stretches across a run. This one checked all three. I used just under 3cc per grain jar, got four jars going with a little left over, and every jar showed clean, even growth without wasting material on stalled spots. That matters because a cheap syringe is not actually cheap if half of it goes to weak performance or contamination. The culture had enough suspended mycelium that I did not feel like I was paying for tinted water. Needle, cap, and plunger all felt properly assembled too, which sounds minor until a sloppy syringe costs you product. For 10ml, the price felt justified because I got reliable inoculations, decent coverage, and no need to immediately reorder.

I was aiming for cheerful golden clusters and, for once, the mushroom project did not decide to humble me. The culture took cleanly on grain and moved faster than my last oyster run. Fruiting came in bright and dense, with that dramatic yellow color that makes the grow room look oddly festive. Docking one star only because they wanted fresh air like tiny, demanding aristocrats.

First time ordering culture, so I checked everything twice. Packaging was secure, clean, and thankfully idiot-proof.

For a small straw bucket test, I used 2cc in each of two buckets and saved the rest for agar. Both runs started clean and moved quickly. This worked well for a simple warm weather oyster project.
