Description

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture Syringe – 10ml / 10cc

Grow One of the Most Distinctive Gourmet Mushrooms

Cultivate Lion’s Mane mushrooms with our premium Grospore 10ml (10cc) liquid culture syringe. Known for their unique cascading white spines, soft texture, and mild seafood-like flavor, Lion’s Mane mushrooms are one of the most recognizable and popular gourmet mushroom varieties. The species is Hericium erinaceus, and you will also see it sold as lions mane, pom pom mushroom, monkey head mushroom, bearded tooth or yamabushitake.

Their unusual appearance and culinary versatility make them an excellent choice for home growers, mushroom enthusiasts, and anyone looking to add something truly distinctive to their cultivation collection.

Liquid Culture, Not a Spore Syringe

Lion’s Mane is often searched for as a “spore syringe”, so it is worth being clear about what this is. A spore syringe holds spores that still have to germinate before anything colonizes. This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe: live, already-growing Hericium erinaceus mycelium suspended in sterile nutrient broth, so colonization begins immediately after inoculation and the genetics stay consistent from one grow to the next.

Why Choose Lion’s Mane Mushrooms?

  • Unique Appearance – Produces striking white fruiting bodies covered in soft, cascading tooth-like spines.
  • Mild, Savory Flavor – Lion’s Mane is often appreciated for its delicate flavor and texture, which can resemble crab or lobster when cooked.
  • Excellent Culinary Versatility – Ideal for sautéing, roasting, pan-searing, soups, pasta dishes, sandwiches, and plant-based recipes.
  • Dense, Tender Texture – Its substantial structure holds up well during cooking and readily absorbs seasonings and sauces.
  • Popular Gourmet Variety – A favorite among chefs, growers, and mushroom enthusiasts for its combination of appearance, flavor, and texture.

Lab-Tested Liquid Culture for Reliable Growth

Our Grospore Lion’s Mane Liquid Culture Syringe contains vigorous living mycelium, lab-tested and prepared in our ISO-certified cleanroom to support healthy colonization and dependable cultivation performance.

Each 10ml (10cc) syringe offers:

  • Live Mycelium, Not Spores – This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe, not a spore syringe. There is no germination step, so colonization begins as soon as you inoculate.
  • Lab-Tested & ISO Cleanroom Prepared – Every batch is lab-tested for purity and prepared in an ISO-certified cleanroom, so what reaches you is clean, contaminant-free and viable.
  • Faster Colonization – Active mycelium helps promote efficient colonization compared with starting from spores.
  • Convenient 10ml (10cc) Syringe – 10cc and 10ml are the same volume. Easy to use with appropriately prepared sterile growing media, grain spawn or agar.
  • Consistent Genetics – Cloned, isolated Hericium erinaceus mycelium rather than a spore lottery, for predictable results grow after grow.

How to Grow Lion’s Mane Mushrooms

  1. Prepare the Substrate – Hardwood sawdust-based substrates supplemented with suitable nutrients are commonly used for Lion’s Mane cultivation. The same syringe can also be used to inoculate sterilized grain spawn, grain jars or bags, or an agar plate.
  2. Inoculate – Inject 2–3cc (2–3ml) per grain jar or bag through a self-healing injection port, using sterile technique in a still air box or in front of a laminar flow hood.
  3. Colonize – Allow the mycelium to fully colonize the substrate under suitable incubation conditions.
  4. Initiate Fruiting – Once colonized, provide appropriate humidity, fresh-air exchange, indirect light, and suitable fruiting temperatures.
  5. Harvest & Enjoy – Harvest when the fruiting bodies are fully developed and the white spines have elongated while remaining fresh and firm.

Storage, Shelf Life & Shipping

Refrigerate your liquid culture syringe on arrival. Stored at 35–45°F (2–7°C), upright and out of direct light, it stays viable for 4–6 months. Orders ship fast from Oregon in discreet packaging, with tracking on every order and a 30-day return policy on unused items.

  1. Aditi Deshpande

Messaged support about storage temps and needle gauge. Fast, precise reply, no canned nonsense.

  2. Hannah Fletcher

I bought this for my dad, but the part he kept commenting on was how well it held up in the fridge. He did not inoculate right away and used it a little over a month after it arrived. It was still visibly active and clean-looking when he finally got to it. I liked that the storage guidance was straightforward too, since that matters a lot when you are giving something time-sensitive as a gift.

  3. Jeremy Sykes

Ran 2cc into each of two sterilized grain jars and both showed visible growth quickly. Colonization stayed even, with no strange discoloration or stalled spots. I moved one jar to supplemented hardwood and it finished cleanly there as well. Final fruiting gave compact white clusters with good structure and decent size for a small home run. Results were consistent enough that I would use this one again.

  4. Kyle Pennington

Ran this for a weekend garage test on two supplemented hardwood bags before scaling up. Used about 2cc per bag and it took off clean. Super handy if you want to trial lion’s mane without going all in.

  5. P.N.

I reordered after the first syringe gave me a clean, predictable run on grain and sawdust. That is really the main reason I buy again. Same volume, same appearance, and the second order performed the way I expected.

  6. Randy, WV

Last Lion’s Mane try stalled. This one moved fast and stayed clean. Better.

After ordering cultures for a few years, I can usually tell from the box whether a seller pays attention. This one was packed the way I like to see it. The syringe was secured so it did not rattle around, the cap and needle were individually protected, and everything arrived clean and organized instead of tossed together. I also appreciate when the label is easy to read without squinting, because I keep several varieties in rotation and hate playing guess-the-syringe in the fridge later. Nothing leaked, nothing looked stressed from transit, and the outer packaging was plain enough to be discreet. I have bought plenty of cultures over time, and sloppy packing is still the fastest way to lose my trust. This shipment looked careful from start to finish, which is why I will keep reordering.

  8. Jeffrey Sutton

After ordering cultures for a few seasons now, I’ve learned not to expect much from shipping estimates. This one beat the window by a full day and tracking stayed accurate the whole way, which I appreciate because I plan my inoculation around arrival. It showed up well packed and ready to refrigerate right away. Fast, predictable delivery is a big reason I keep coming back.

  9. Scott C.

Doubted the process at first, but the instructions were clear enough to trust.

  10. Elena P.

What stood out to me was how clearly this was labeled as liquid culture instead of spores. As a newer grower, that saved me from buying the wrong thing. The syringe arrived cold packed, looked clean, and the mycelium was easy to see in solution. I used it on sterilized grain and got steady growth without any weird surprises. Solid option if you want something straightforward and not a guessing game.

From the moment I opened the box, I could tell some care went into the packaging here. The syringe was secured well, the cap was snug, and everything arrived looking clean and organized instead of rattled around like an afterthought. I really appreciated that the label was easy to read at a glance, which sounds small but makes a difference when you are putting supplies away in the fridge and coming back to them later. The protective packing kept it from getting banged up in transit, and nothing leaked or looked stressed from shipping. Honestly, for a product like this, good packaging sets the tone for the whole experience, and this absolutely nailed it. It showed up tidy, intact, and ready to use, which made me feel confident before I even got started.

  12. Onair Valdez

Got this for my brother after he kept talking about wanting to try lion’s mane on hardwood blocks. I did not use it myself, but I did get the follow-up texts: clean syringe, lively culture, and enough success that he asked me to order the same one again instead of experimenting with a different source. So yes, this has apparently become my easiest gift idea for him.

  13. Chinelo Okafor

I grabbed this for a small side project on supplemented hardwood blocks, and it behaved exactly how I hoped. The mycelium looked active in the syringe, took to grain cleanly, and transferred over without drama. I mainly wanted lion’s mane for pan-searing, so this was more of a kitchen experiment than a hobby grow. For that specific use, it was a very solid pick.

  14. Martin Holcomb

Been rotating gourmet cultures for years, and this one consistently colonizes fast and fruits clean.
