Description
Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture Syringe – 10ml / 10cc
Grow One of the Most Distinctive Gourmet Mushrooms
Cultivate Lion’s Mane mushrooms with our premium Grospore 10ml (10cc) liquid culture syringe. Known for their unique cascading white spines, soft texture, and mild seafood-like flavor, Lion’s Mane mushrooms are one of the most recognizable and popular gourmet mushroom varieties. The species is Hericium erinaceus, and you will also see it sold as lions mane, pom pom mushroom, monkey head mushroom, bearded tooth or yamabushitake.
Their unusual appearance and culinary versatility make them an excellent choice for home growers, mushroom enthusiasts, and anyone looking to add something truly distinctive to their cultivation collection.
Liquid Culture, Not a Spore Syringe
Lion’s Mane is often searched for as a “spore syringe”, so it is worth being clear about what this is. A spore syringe holds spores that still have to germinate before anything colonizes. This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe: live, already-growing Hericium erinaceus mycelium suspended in sterile nutrient broth, so colonization begins immediately after inoculation and the genetics stay consistent from one grow to the next.
Why Choose Lion’s Mane Mushrooms?
- Unique Appearance – Produces striking white fruiting bodies covered in soft, cascading tooth-like spines.
- Mild, Savory Flavor – Lion’s Mane is often appreciated for its delicate flavor and texture, which can resemble crab or lobster when cooked.
- Excellent Culinary Versatility – Ideal for sautéing, roasting, pan-searing, soups, pasta dishes, sandwiches, and plant-based recipes.
- Dense, Tender Texture – Its substantial structure holds up well during cooking and readily absorbs seasonings and sauces.
- Popular Gourmet Variety – A favorite among chefs, growers, and mushroom enthusiasts for its combination of appearance, flavor, and texture.
Lab-Tested Liquid Culture for Reliable Growth
Our Grospore Lion’s Mane Liquid Culture Syringe contains vigorous living mycelium, lab-tested and prepared in our ISO-certified cleanroom to support healthy colonization and dependable cultivation performance.
Each 10ml (10cc) syringe offers:
- Live Mycelium, Not Spores – This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe, not a spore syringe. There is no germination step, so colonization begins as soon as you inoculate.
- Lab-Tested & ISO Cleanroom Prepared – Every batch is lab-tested for purity and prepared in an ISO-certified cleanroom, so what reaches you is clean, contaminant-free and viable.
- Faster Colonization – Active mycelium helps promote efficient colonization compared with starting from spores.
- Convenient 10ml (10cc) Syringe – 10cc and 10ml are the same volume. Easy to use with appropriately prepared sterile growing media, grain spawn or agar.
- Consistent Genetics – Cloned, isolated Hericium erinaceus mycelium rather than a spore lottery, for predictable results grow after grow.
How to Grow Lion’s Mane Mushrooms
- Prepare the Substrate – Hardwood sawdust-based substrates supplemented with suitable nutrients are commonly used for Lion’s Mane cultivation. The same syringe can also be used to inoculate sterilized grain spawn, grain jars or bags, or an agar plate.
- Inoculate – Inject 2–3cc (2–3ml) per grain jar or bag through a self-healing injection port, using sterile technique in a still air box or in front of a laminar flow hood.
- Colonize – Allow the mycelium to fully colonize the substrate under suitable incubation conditions.
- Initiate Fruiting – Once colonized, provide appropriate humidity, fresh-air exchange, indirect light, and suitable fruiting temperatures.
- Harvest & Enjoy – Harvest when the fruiting bodies are fully developed and the white spines have elongated while remaining fresh and firm.

Martin Holcomb –
Been rotating gourmet cultures for years, and this one consistently colonizes fast and fruits clean.

I didn’t use this right away, so I was a little worried about storing it correctly. Kept it upright in the fridge for a few weeks, and it still looked healthy and active when I finally inoculated.
Aarav Bhattacharya –
Picked this up for my sister after she got into growing gourmet mushrooms. She said the culture looked healthy and got going quickly, so for the price it felt like a solid gift instead of a novelty purchase.

Before ordering, I sent customer service a mildly paranoid message asking whether this was actually liquid culture and not a spore syringe wearing a fake mustache. They replied quickly, answered the difference clearly, and also told me how to store it once it arrived. That was the part I appreciated most. No canned script, no vague inspirational wording, just useful information from someone who seemed to know what they were talking about.
I had one follow-up question about using it on grain first before moving to a hardwood mix, and they answered that without making me feel like I was interrupting their day. In a hobby full of mysterious forum advice and people typing like woodland prophets, getting plain, competent help was refreshing. The syringe itself looked good, but the service is what got me comfortable enough to order.

After buying liquid cultures on and off for a few years, I judge value mostly by whether a syringe gives me a clean start, stretches across multiple jars, and saves me from wasting time on bad genetics. This one checked those boxes for me. The 10cc size was enough for several small runs, and I did not feel like I was paying for hype or fancy wording. Lion’s mane can be finicky depending on your setup, so consistency matters more to me than squeezing out the absolute lowest price. I would rather spend a little more once than replace a weak or contaminated syringe later. In that sense, this was a good deal. Fast takeoff on grain, healthy looking culture, and enough usable volume to make the cost feel justified. I have reordered other varieties here for the same reason.

Tried this after a failed agar start from another seller and it was night and day. I inoculated two hardwood-supplemented bags and both took off evenly with no contamination showing up. The mycelium looked healthy right out of the package, and I liked that the syringe flowed smoothly instead of clogging. Fruiting took some patience, but the end result was worth it. Nice texture on the harvest and honestly one of the more forgiving gourmet cultures I have used.

Placed the order on a Monday just before noon, got tracking that afternoon, and the first carrier scan showed up before dinner. It reached me two days later with the syringe still cool and upright in the padding. I pay attention to transit details because delayed culture can be a headache. This one moved cleanly through the system with no dead gaps in tracking or vague status updates.

Since I was new, I worried fridge storage would ruin it, but it stayed fine.

Honestly bought this for a weekend project and mainly cared about whether the instructions would be easy to follow. They were. I appreciated the guidance on how much to use per jar, because a lot of listings skip that and assume you already know. I put it into rye jars in a still air box and everything progressed at a pace that made sense for a home setup. No drama, no confusing steps, and it helped me feel a lot more confident trying Lion’s Mane for the first time.

After ordering cultures for years, packaging is the first thing I judge because a good syringe can still be ruined by sloppy handling. This one arrived in a sturdy little box with enough padding that nothing shifted around in transit. The syringe was capped tight, the needle was separate and sealed, and the whole setup looked clean and organized instead of tossed together. I also liked that the label was easy to read at a glance, which matters when you keep a few different cultures in the fridge. There was no leakage, no loose cap, and no mystery moisture inside the pack. I have bought enough of these over time to notice when a seller gets the basics right, and this shipment did. That kind of consistent packaging is a big reason I keep coming back.

Asked one storage question and got a clear, useful reply fast. That alone won me over.
