Lab-Tested Liquid Culture for Reliable Growth
Our Grospore King Oyster / King Trumpet Liquid Culture Syringe contains vigorous living mycelium, lab-tested and prepared in our ISO-certified cleanroom to support healthy colonization and dependable cultivation performance.
Each 10ml (10cc) syringe offers:
- Live Mycelium, Not Spores – This is a liquid culture (LC) syringe, not a spore syringe. There is no germination step, so colonization begins as soon as you inoculate.
- Lab-Tested & ISO Cleanroom Prepared – Every batch is lab-tested for purity and prepared in an ISO-certified cleanroom, so what reaches you is clean, contaminant-free and viable.
- Faster Colonization – Active mycelium helps promote efficient colonization compared with starting from spores.
- Convenient 10ml (10cc) Syringe – 10cc and 10ml are the same volume. Easy to use with appropriately prepared sterile growing media, grain spawn or agar.
- Consistent Genetics – Cloned, isolated Pleurotus eryngii mycelium for predictable stem thickness and cluster form, grow after grow.
How to Grow King Oyster / King Trumpet Mushrooms
- Prepare the Substrate – Hardwood sawdust-based substrates supplemented with suitable nutrients are commonly used for King Oyster cultivation. The same syringe can also be used to inoculate sterilized grain spawn, grain jars or bags, or an agar plate.
- Inoculate – Inject 2–3cc (2–3ml) per grain jar or bag through a self-healing injection port, using sterile technique in a still air box or in front of a laminar flow hood.
- Colonize – Allow the mycelium to fully colonize the substrate under suitable incubation conditions.
- Initiate Fruiting – Once fully colonized, provide appropriate humidity, fresh-air exchange, indirect light, and suitable fruiting temperatures.
- Harvest & Enjoy – Harvest when the stems are thick and firm and the caps have developed to the desired size.

Back for another syringe because the first one did its job and I do not enjoy gambling on cultures. I reordered this variety after a clean run on grain and a solid fruiting block with the thick stems I wanted. That is really the whole reason to buy again. Not hype, not pretty labeling, just repeatable results. The second order looked the same as the first, which matters more than anything. Same clean appearance, same easy draw, same quick takeoff after inoculation. I used less guesswork this time because I already knew what to expect, and it behaved exactly the way the first one did. If I have to keep a king oyster in rotation, it will be this one. Reordering was easier than wasting another batch on something inconsistent.

At first I figured this would be another syringe that looked fine and then crawled along once it hit grain. I was wrong. The mycelium started showing quickly, spread evenly, and stayed clean through colonization. My first run gave me thick stems and compact caps instead of the skinny, underwhelming fruits I was bracing for. Not magic, just solid results, which honestly surprised me.

Mine sat upright in the fridge for a little over two months because life happened and apparently the mushrooms were more organized than I was. When I finally used it, the culture still looked healthy and colonized grain without any drama. I kept it cold and out of the light like instructed, which turns out is also good advice for me. Shelf life was better than expected, and definitely better than my produce drawer.

Packed cleanly and the syringe looked healthy right out of the box. I used it on sterilized grain, kept everything in a still air box, and saw steady growth without any weird colors or smells. What I appreciated most was that the culture stayed vigorous even after a couple weeks in the fridge before I got around to using it. Solid buy for anyone who wants a dependable gourmet strain.

For a weekend test, I used this on two supplemented sawdust blocks to grow thick stems for slicing into scallop-style rounds. It colonized cleanly and the texture was exactly what I wanted for pan searing. Super pleased with this one.

Compared with my last king oyster culture, this one looked cleaner and started noticeably faster on grain.

I keep a couple gourmet varieties in rotation, and this one is the culture I reach for when I want thick stems for slicing into medallions and scoring for the pan. It has been reliable on supplemented sawdust blocks and easy to expand onto grain first. The main reason I reorder is that it consistently gives me the dense texture I want for searing, instead of floppier oyster-style fruits.

I did not use this right away, so storage mattered more to me than pretty wording. It went into the fridge upright the day it arrived and sat there a little over two months before I finally had time to inoculate. I expected at least some loss of vigor by then. Didn’t happen.
The culture still pushed cleanly through the syringe, the liquid looked normal, and colonization started without the sluggish, questionable start I’ve seen from older cultures before. That alone saved me from feeling like I’d paid for a countdown clock. The storage notes were straightforward and realistic, which I appreciate because vague instructions are useless.
If you actually refrigerate it properly and don’t leave it baking on a shelf, it seems to hold up well. That was the whole test for me, and it passed.

Went with this culture after a frustrating spore attempt from another supplier, and the difference was obvious. The syringe had plenty of visible mycelium and the instructions were straightforward enough that I did not have to second guess how much to use per bag. I inoculated two grain jars and both took off evenly. Nice option if you want an easier, less fiddly start for a gourmet grow.

Order shipped quickly, tracking updated promptly, and it arrived in two days.

This is my second syringe of this strain. The first one stayed viable in the fridge for months and performed as expected, so reordering was easy. Clean culture, straightforward to use, and consistent enough for me.
Wayne Colter –
Arrived way sooner than expected, packed properly, and still cool when it hit my porch.

Before ordering, I asked support about needle gauge, refrigeration range, and whether upright storage actually mattered. They replied point by point, same day, without canned wording. That level of precision made me comfortable buying this one.

For what you get, this felt like a pretty solid deal. Ten cc of live culture goes farther than I expected, especially if you are not just blasting half the syringe into one project for no reason. I used a few cc on grain and still had enough left for agar, so the cost made way more sense once I actually started working with it. The culture looked healthy, moved fast, and I did not feel like I paid premium money just to gamble on a dud. King oysters are one of those varieties I actually want in the kitchen, so getting a clean start without wasting time on spores was worth it to me. Not the cheapest thing in my cart, sure, but definitely one of the better values.

Since this was my first time ordering liquid culture, I was probably more anxious about the packaging than the actual growing part. I kept imagining a loose cap or a bent needle rattling around in a warm box. What showed up was much more reassuring. The syringe was capped tightly, packed neatly, and protected well enough that nothing looked jostled or messy when I opened it. Everything felt clean and organized, which honestly calmed me down right away. I also liked that the labeling was easy to read, so I did not have that panicky moment of wondering if I grabbed the wrong item for the fridge. For someone brand new to this, the packaging gave me confidence before I even used it. That mattered more to me than I expected.
